Jeff Fulkerson has been creating stunning, imaginative jewelry for over 30 years.
A contributing artist to Lapidary Journal’s Jewelry Artist Magazine, his work has also been seen in Art Jewelry Magazine. Jeff is a recipient of the Courtney McGowan Design Award as well as a blue ribbon award winner for his jewelry in design and construction at the San Diego County Fair. Some of his awards include Best Educational Exhibit, Coordinator’s Cup (2005 and 2009), and Best Single Jewelry Piece (2005 and 2009). His meticulous execution and attention to detail is becoming well known among industry professionals.
Jeff has taught at the Museum of Man in Balboa Park and Granite Hills High School in El Cajon, California. He was part of the staff at Bead Fest and the Bead & Button Show, and he currently teaches at Oskadusa in Solana Beach, California.
Upcoming projects include releasing new How-To instructional books, and a series of instructional videos for Jewelry Artist Magazine. Fulkerson is also the inventor and designer of multiple jewelry making products, including the innovative Bead Bandit and Steady Stamp.
A self-taught silver-smith with a background in construction and design, he counts himself fortunate to have studied with many great Native American artists throughout the years. They are most notably, Richard Tsosie (Navajo), Jesse Monogya (Hopi/Navajo), and Michael Cheatham (Cherokee).
Born and raised in San Diego, California, Fulkerson went on to earn a business degree from Chico State, as well as an M.A. from National University. Jeff has also been a licensed general contractor since 1990, and has owned and operated JROC Construction since that time. Together with his wife Roxanne, they started Alden Jeffries Design in 2003. The two currently reside in East County San Diego and have three sons and a beautiful daughter-in-law.
