Ace McCasland (aka Studio Luna Verde) | Elevate: exploring the spirit of prong set rings | Monday, January 30, 2023 | 9:00 am until 6:00 pm
$225.00
Elevate: to move or raise to a higher place or position; lift up.
Elevate also means ‘to raise the spirits.’
I don’t know about you, but anytime I don my dramatic statement rings, I seem to stand taller, smile more confidently, and feel just a wee bit more,
well, you know, badass.
My spirits are definitely raised.
In this workshop, we will raise our spirits by experimenting with a variety of organic ring bands, including some made entirely of silver scrap, upon which we will perch stately faceted stones on elevated prong settings.
We will discuss and explore a variety of options of how to attach the prong setting to the shank. You should be able to leave class with at least one finished ring, and a few ring bands to either stand alone as they are, or experiment adding settings to at home.
This is an intermediate level class, there will be lots of fussy soldering involved, so remember, take lots of deep breaths, and previous experience with the torch and soldering is highly recommended.
(Images shown are examples of what can be achieved with the techniques learned in class and may not necessarily depict actual results.)
