Grasp – to take hold of firmly: embrace.
In this class, we will learn how to grasp a faceted stone of your choice in a hand fabricated silver prong setting to make a dramatic, sculptural ring. We will also explore several options for making a unique and organic ring shank to showcase your setting, some utilizing scrap silver.
You may choose to go simple, or sublime, but either way, be prepared to take your creations to another level!

old long-nose pliers for use when soldering
cross lock tweezers
copper tongs – 2 pair – one each for pickle and patina
fine point tweezers or natural hair paintbrush for placing solder
ring mandrel
jewelers saw and blades (#2/0 – #4/0)
cut lube or wax for burs
bench pin / 3” or 4” C-Clamp to secure bench pin (tables vary in thickness)
pliers – flat nose, chain nose, round nose
