Using fused dust and wire textures in Argentium silver, Students will create one or more fused & anticlastic formed  bracelets and one or more rings with flush set faceted stones

April will teach you all the tricks to make this gorgeous cuff bracelet.

Learn new skills or hone what you already know.

Flush set stones – Melt metal edges correctly – practice anticlastic forming – create granulation balls – roller print – fuse components to Argentium – finish and oxidize your pieces when completed.

Intermediate  level, you must be comfortable with a torch and saw.

Work with your own tools in the comfort of your own studio.

Laptop or Tablet recommended for viewing, and cell phone camera for sharing photos of your project if you have questions for April.

Please familiarize yourself with Zoom and make sure to download the Zoom Apps on your devices.

Students will participate in a combination of both recorded and live Zoom events every other day for four days with April. Question and answer period, and further instruction will occur during live classroom meetups.

    • IF YOU NEED YOUR BRACELET TO BE LONGER THAN SIX-INCHES, WE SUGGEST YOU PURCHASE 18G ARGENTIUM SHEET AND ROLL IT TO THE LENGTH YOU NEED (NO THINNER THAN 22-GA)
  • 16G ARGENTIUM ROUND WIRE – 3 FT. (USE SOME FOR BALL GRANULES)
  • 14G ARGENTIUM WIRE – 1 FT (FOR BALL GRANULES – IF YOU HAVE NO PREVIOUS ARSS SCRAPS)

  • IF YOU HAVE NO ARGENTIUM SCRAPS FROM PREVIOUS WORK, BUY 1 FT OF 16G ARGENTIUM WIRE TO MAKE BALL GRANULES, USING SOME OF YOUR EXTRA 18G FROM ABOVE AS WELL.
  • STEEL BINDING WIRE – 24G IF NO ROLLING MILL OR 26G TO 28G IF USING ONE (FOR TEXTURE) 2MM ROUND FACETTED CZ STONES – I SUGGEST COLORLESS
  • 2MM SETTING BUR
  • 1.75MM (OR SO) BALL BUR OR BUD BUR
  • NEEDLE BURNISHER – 2MM SIZE – BUY ONE OR MAKE YOUR OWN DRILL BIT – IN THE 1MM SIZE RANGE (NO LARGER THAN 1.2MM)

  • EUROTOOL HANDY FLAME BUTANE TORCH
    • I USE THIS FOR FUSING.
    • USE WHAT YOU HAVE. BUSHY FLAME IS BETTER THAN TIGHT HOT FLAME
  • CLEAN FLAT SOLDERITE BOARD (PREFERRED) OR NEWISH CHARCOAL BLOCK – TO FUSE ON
  • YELLOW LIQUID FLUX OR SIMILAR – LIKE RHONDA CORYELL’S PURPLE FLUX SOLDERING STATION
  • ROLLING MILL – I HAVE WORK AROUND IF YOU DO NOT OWN THIS.
  • VISE (MAY BE HANDY)

  • POLISHED PLANISHING HAMMER OR SIMILAR FOR FLATTENING GRANULES
