The squash blossom is an iconic symbol of the Southwest, with roots in Native American and Spanish motifs.  In the Navajo language, the name for the squash blossom bead translates to “bead which spreads out”*

In the class, learn to make one that really and truly spreads out.  In fact, this squash blossom blooms!  This pendant opens up with a special surprise inside:  A turquoise cabochon at the center of the flower.
