Francesca Watson | Letty Ring | Monday, January 29th, 2018 | 9 am until 4 pm

$145.00

From one angle, it’s a clean brushed bar of silver – substantial and smooth. From another, it’s the dimensional glamour and sparkle of a rose-cut gem. And then there’s the rustic pattern on the front and back, slightly tarnished, texture that’s visual and tactile and slightly worn. It comes together in a surprisingly light-weight and comfortable bit of sculpture for your hand, different from every perspective… a bit like you.
Each hollow-form ring grows proportionally out of a custom-fitted ring band, finished with a mixture of techniques, and embellished with a selection of delicate rose-cut gemstones. We will make use of a full range of traditional and “kitchen table” techniques, including sawing, soldering, filing, polishing and tube setting.  This is an intermediate level workshop and students should be comfortable with a torch and a jeweler’s saw. Everything is provided, from the tools to the materials, so just come ready to work and have fun!
