Jenny Reeves | Put Some Gold On It! Part 1: Fused Argentium Band Ring | Thursday, February 6th, 2020 | 9:00 am until 4:30 pm

Argentium is a tarnish-resistant alloy of sterling with unique fusing abilities, making it an ideal metal for granulation and fabricating with little or no solder.

In this class students will explore fusing Argentium sterling silver to create a band ring embellished with 18K gold texture, granules and an 18K gold bezel setting.  The resulting “galaxy” effect is an organic way to add gold pop and value to your work at nominal cost!

Skills covered include:

  • Ring design and layout
  • Fusing a band ring
  • Creating and fusing filings for texture
  • Creating and fusing granules
  • How to solder around textures
  • Tips for working with Argentium, using patinas and more!
