Jenny Reeves |***UPDATED*** Put Some Gold On It – Argentium, That Is! Part 3: Pierced and Layered Pendant with Aura 22 | Saturday, February 8th, 2020 | 9:00 am until 4:30 pm and 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm

Argentium is a tarnish-resistant alloy of sterling with unique fusing abilities, making it an ideal metal for solder-free lamination.  Aura 22 is paint-on 22K gold product bonded by heat and pressure.  Applied by brush, it creates gorgeous “painterly” effects and it’s the perfect way to add gold to recessed areas and other hard-to-reach places.

In this class students will fuse pierced and textured layers of Argentium silver to create a laminated pendant with Aura 22 gold embellishments.   The lamination normally accomplished by sweat soldering is done entirely by fusing, so there’s less set-up, less clean-up and no risk of solder flowing where you don’t want it!

Skills covered include:

  • Pendant design and layout
  • Piercing
  • Roller printing
  • Fusing layers of Argentium sheet
  • Adding a stone setting
  • Aura 22 application and bonding
  • Tips for working with Argentium, using patinas and more!
