Jessica Jordan Coté | Parabola Earrings | Saturday, February 3rd, 2018 | 9 am until 4 pm

A smorgasbord of silver skills! Given two sheets of sterling, students will create two pairs of “sister” earrings. The first pair of hoop-style dangles will be executed with the addition of a closure mechanism on the back, and students will focus on design with functionality in mind. The second pair of earrings will be built using the scrap metal remaining from the first pair. We will look at the beauty and possibility of bench remnants and delve into surface textures. Additionally, students will learn about bonding metal to improve construction efficiency, will solder various forms of metal together (wire to sheet) and finish off with some stone setting and synclastic work. Come ready to experiment!
