Let me be as a feather. Strong with purpose, yet light at heart, able to bend. And tho I might become frayed, able to pull myself together again. ~ Anita Sams.

This is a quote that I find so very poignant in most aspects of life and resonates deeply within me when I read it.

I have created this ring style as a gentle reminder of these words for the wearer.

In fact, these words will be included in our piece as a scribed message on the backplate behind our focal stone as our secret reminder just before setting our stone in place, locking in its intention forever.

I am a lover of a handmade sizable statement ring.

I will wear them dressed down with a simple pair of jeans and white tee as well as dressed up to a fancy gala.

They not only look beautiful, but they are great conversation starters and a way to show off your artistic skill and style.

Join me as I teach the process of creating this meaningful statement piece.

***Note: If you aren’t a fan of large rings and would like to make yours a pendant, I am happy to show you that option in class as well***

MATERIALS
  • Gemstone or Turquoise Cabochon of your choosing. The stone should not exceed 35mm in length and be on the narrow side (around 15mm-ish)  to leave space for the feather casting. I suggest resting it on top of your hand to visualize if it will be a good size for your statement piece.
  • Bezel Wire: Once you choose your cabochon, bring bezel wire that will complement your choice in both size and style. (*Length -> measure the circumference of your stone. Bring double or triple what you think you will need just in case you melt one or two. Height -> no more than one millimeter more than the height of your stone’s edge. If you have questions, feel free to email me!)  It needs to be Fine Silver – 28-gauge. Feel free to choose plain, scalloped, serrated or gallery wire.

  • Size 4 Low Dome Wire is being provided for your band, but if you want to bring your own decorative wire or even use a cast twig for the band, you may.
  • Any castings or decorative elements to replace the feather if feathers aren’t really your thing. I get it. I want everyone’s piece to represent them and be something they will wear for many years to come!
