In this 3 hour class, students will learn to transform keepsake coins into wearable rings using beginner metalsmithing techniques like piercing, sawing, annealing, forging, and finishing.

No previous metalsmithing experience is required to be successful in this class!

Students are encouraged to bring their own meaningful coins to use, but the instructor will have a variety of coins from around the world available for purchase.

Photos depict examples of Zac’s creations and will be inspiration for your own unique creations in class.

Sand paper (suggested grits 600, 1000, 1500)

Half round file

Fine black sharpie marker

Ring mandrel (we’ll have one for use in class – bring your own so you don’t have to wait to use it)

Because this is not a dedicated jewelry/metals studio, we ask you to bring an assortment of tools. Some people will be willing to share, but don’t rely on that if there are certain tools you usually work with.
